Module 1: Basic concepts: Liberalization, Privatization, Globalisation, Social Transformation, and LPG in India

Module 2: Post-Liberalization Transformation and Development Challenges in India, Land and Livelihoods in Neoliberal India.

Module 3: Impact of Liberalization on Society and Culture in India

Module 4: Foreignisation of space Liberalization, development, displacement and dissent in India Acts and Policies of Land Acquisition, Resettlement and Rehabilitation in India

Module 5: Agriculture sector in Neoliberal India, Non-Farm Employment and Rural Transformation in India, Contract farming in India

Course Objectives

  • To expose students to liberalization policies and transformations
  • To explain how neoliberal policies have shaped or are shaping India in contemporary times.

Course Outcomes
