NIT Rourkela supports students of higher learning with financial aids. Fellowships/Assistantships are available to meritorious PDF, Ph.D. and M.Tech (Res) students of all departments, the rate of which is given in the following table:

In addition to this, various scholarships are available to meritorious students of various programs.
- Meritorious M.Tech students without GATE/NET score (Except Sponsored) may be considered for award of fellowship under Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP-II).
