The Institute Health centre has separate two-storeyed building which is located in the heart of the campus. Health Centre provides the health services to the Institute employees, their dependants, students and non-entitled patients on outpatient basis. The Health centre has fifteen numbers of staff including five numbers of full time allopathic doctors, three visiting specialist doctors and seven supporting staff. Drugs are disbursed to the beneficiaries free of cost on doctor’s prescription, generated online through M/s Apollo Pharmacy present just beside the Health Centre. Patients in need of advanced care are referred to five designated hospitals in Rourkela, where all indoor treatment is provided free of cost. On recommendation Health Centre or Medical advisory board, the patients are referred to higher centre of outside Rourkela for their better management for specific diseases. To provide extending OPD treatment facilities in the Health Centre, contractual doctors have been appointed in the different area of specialization. They are sitting once in a week. Health Centre operates 7 days a week for 365 days as per the scheduled time. An ambulance for patients’ transportation from NIT to nearby referral hospitals has been deployed as and when required. All medical-related policies are formulated by the Institute's Medical Advisory Committee to ensure transparency and the best possible care for stakeholders. Near about 50000 patients are treated annually in the health Centre. The Health Centre organizes free health check-up camps and blood donation drives every quaterly, along with various annual health awareness programs to promote well-being among the Institute's stakeholders.
