Module1: Introduction: Sources of energy, steam, hydro and nuclear power generation, general structure of electrical power systems. (Hours:1)

Course Objective
1 . |
To develop cognizance of fundamental electrical quantities and the salient features of passive elements in the context of both direct and alternating current circuits. |
2 . |
To introduce different circuit analysis techniques about electrical networks subjected to both direct and alternating sources, and to provide exposure to the basic concepts of electromagnetism and introduce the analysis of simple magnetic circuits. |
3 . |
To develop a basic electrical circuit-oriented understanding of the different types of electrical machines and pertaining analysis thereof. |
4 . |
To provide a brief description of the working principle of the electrical measuring instruments. |
