Syllabus
Identification of anions: SO42-, CO32-, NO2-, Cl-, Br-, I- , and NO3-, using qualitative analysis. Qualitative tests of metal ions. Identify the cations and anions in an unknown sample of ionic salts. Preparation and physical properties of inorganic/Organometallic compounds for Example: Vanadylacetylacetonate, iron tris(oxalate)).
Course Objectives
- Exposure of the undergraduate students into qualitative analysis as well as synthesis and study of physical properties of coordination compounds
Course Outcomes
1) The students will become familiar with broad spectrum of practical skills in identifying the anions and metal ions, synthesis of inorganic compounds. 2) Students will be able to connect with the basics knowledge and theory taught in theory classes.
