Syllabus

Tools of recombinant DNA. c-DNA and genomic library, oligonucleotide synthesis, Molecular markers, DNA sequencing, Functional Genomics, Gene isolation, cloning, expression and identification of recombinant clone and expression of the protein in bacteria and eukaryotic cells. Regulating Use of Biotechnology, Patenting Biotechnology Inventions

Course Objectives

  • Students will be oriented with current aspects of recombinant DNA biology with their clear and scientific approaches solving molecular biology problems

Course Outcomes

By the end of the course, the students will be able to: <br />The benefit with detailed concept/knowledge on current molecular biology and application. <br />Apply the recombinant DNA science in routine laboratory application and practices. <br />Provide examples on the use of rDNA science to engineering bacteria, plant or animal cell to produce a protein of interest. <br />Can design step-by-step research problems on bioengineering any organism.
