Methods and factors of M-C bond formation, 18 electron rule, wades rule, Preparation, properties and bonding of metal carbonyl complexes. Examples of metal carbonyls. Mononuclear , binuclear, trinuclear and polynuclear metal carbonyls. ,Discussion of IR strectching frequency for different carbonyls, Change of IR value with change in different parameters like Substitutent, Metals, Charge on complexes etc. , Main group organometallic chemistry: AlkylLithium-bonding and properties, AlkyBerylium-bonding and properties, Alkyl aluminium-bonding and properties, Grignard reagent-bonding and properties, Complexes of Olefins, acetylenes and related unsaturated molecules, Oxidative addition and reductive elimination reactions, Metallocenes, preparation, properties and structures and their derivatives, Boranes , Carboranes and Metalloboranes, Bonding and properties, Examples, Metal Cluster compounds: Dinuclear, trinuclear, polynuclear clusters, Structure and application, Catalytic properties of mononuclear compounds, in catalysis, Alkene hydrogenation, Hydroformylation, Polymerisation etc.,, Application of organometallic compounds in Organic synthesis, Characterization methods of organometallic Compounds, Metal ligand multiple bonds: carbenes, carbynes,Basic aspects of bioorganometallic chemistry, Discussions on recent research topic on organometallic chemistry.
