Syllabus

Introduction, Maintenance Strategies, Condition Monitoring Methods, Types and Benefits of Vibration Analysis, Vibration Transducers, Torsional Vibration Transducers, Vibration signals from rotating and reciprocating machines, signals generated by rotating machines, signals generated by reciprocating machines, basic signal processing techniques, fault detection using vibration signatures, Analysis of cracks in structures, Analysis of theoretical and experimental methodology to detect cracks and faults in various vibrating and dynamic structures. Wavelet analysis of sensor signals for condition monitoring. Analysis of various sensors and equipment used for condition monitoring. Use of various Al techniques for fault detection of vibrating structures. Case studies of Industrial problems related to condition monitoring of vibrating and dynamic structures.

Course Objectives

  • To impart basic knowledge and importance on Vibration Based Condition Monitoring in Engineering Fields among the students
  • To create the awareness on Vibration Based Condition Monitoring in Research and Application area

Course Outcomes

Knowledge will be gained on application and utility of Vibration Based Condition Monitoring used in various sectors and fields
