Syllabus

Module 1 :

Experiment 1: To determine the wear and co-efficient of friction of the material during sliding ,by using pin on disc apparatus .
Experiment 2: To find the erosion rate of a given sample by air jet erosion test rig.
Experiment 3: To evaluate the abrasion resistance of composite using a dry sand abrasion tester as per ASTM G 65 standards.
Experiment 4: To determine the expected life of a ball bearing for a corresponding load.
Experiment 5: To investigate the vibration characteristics of rolling element bearings by measuring and analysing vibration signatures using time and frequency domain analysis
Experiment 6: To determine the distribution of lubricating oil at various loads and speed of a Journal Bearing.
Experiment 7: To determine wear rate using two body abrasion test apparatus
Experiment 8: To evaluate the slurry abrasion resistance of composite as per ASTM G 105 standards
Experiment 9: Study and experimentation on of Profile Meter
Experiment 10: To investigate the vibration characteristics of liquid lubricated bearings by measuring and analysing vibration signatures using time and frequency domain analysis
