Syllabus

1. Determination of Sequence Impedances of a Cylindrical Rotor Synchronous Machine.
2. Fault Analysis of (i) LG Fault (ii) LL Fault (iii) LLG Fault (iv) LLLG Fault
3. Characteristics of Static Negative Sequence Relay.
4. Simulation of 220 kV Transmission line model.
(a) Ferranti effect (b) Transmission line parameter (c) Surge Impedance loadings (d) Voltage control methods
5. Study of generator protection schemes under different types of fault conditions.
6. Study of motor protection schemes under different types of fault conditions and over current characteristics under variable mechanical load.
7. Study on Protection schemes for 3 phase transformer.
8. Study of time grading protection system and current graded protection system of the feeder.
9. Directional Relay and Digital distance relay (i). Study the given directional relay and determine the characteristic of the relay (ii). Study on distance protection scheme with a Digital Relay.
10. To find out the equivalent circuit of a three winding transformer.
11. Demonstrating the automatic operation on the control of reactive at various inductive loads and at different sensitivity.
12. To study the measurement of active energy, reactive energy and maximum demand.
13. Bus bar coupling and bus bar transfer without interruption of the power supply to the consumer and switching sequence for disconnector and power circuit breakers.
14. On line determination of ratio error and phase error of CT and PT.
15. Over current relay and under voltage relay study the over current relay and under voltage relay. Observe and determine characteristics of the relay for two plug settings and two time settings for each.
