Analog and digital signal conditioning Electrical and mechanical loading Op-Amp circuits Filtering Modulation and demodulation of signals Sensors MEMS based IMU and Gyroscope Hall sensors PMU DVL Sensor fusion concept Actuators Pneumatic control valves Temperature process Distillation column two tank level control Fluid mixing process PLC ladder diagram Ziegler Nichols tuning method for PID controller implementation Decoupling of MIMO systems Model predictive control.

Course Objectives

  • Students will have an appreciation of the necessity and difficulty of making choices between different sensors and actuators and their usage in process control.

Course Outcomes

At the end of the course, students will be able <br />(I) To demonstrate the basics of industrial instrumentation signal conditioning and actuators <br />(II) To exhibit proficiency in different processes and their control methods
