Syllabus
1. Basics of LabVIEW software.
2. Hands on with NI USB 6008 data acquisition card.
3. Measurement of temperature using LM35 and perform the data logging.
4. Interface PIR motion sensor and USB camera with LabVIEW for intruder detection and identification.
5. Interface a stepper motor with LabVIEW using NI USB 6008 DAQ card.
6. Measurement of Temperature Using RTD and Thermocouple and perform the data logging using LabVIEW and NI Modules 9217 & 9211.
7. Simulation and implementation of real time four-way Traffic Light system using LabVIEW and NI USB 6008 DAQ card.
8. Hands on with different instruments of NI ELVIS II+.
9. Interface of LPG gas sensor MQ5 with LabVIEW using NI USB 6008 DAQ card and implementation of a gas leakage alarm system.
10. Interface Arduino embedded board with LabVIEW and perform basic data acquisition.
Course Objectives
- To get acquainted with LabVIEW software.
- To interface different Data Acquisition (DAQ) cards and modules with LabVIEW for data acquisition and control application.
- To log the acquired data in EXCEL sheet with proper formatting.
- To interface web cam with LabVIEW for image and video acquisition.
Course Outcomes
After the completion of this course, students will be able to: <br /> <br />CO1: Demonstrate the controls, tools and function palates of LabVIEW software. <br /> <br />CO2: Configure the DAQ card for different data acquisition purposes. <br /> <br />CO3: Design signal conditioning circuits and driver circuits for different sensors and actuators respectively in hardware as well as in LabVIEW software. <br /> <br />CO4: Analyse the signals acquired by the DAQ card using different tools of LabVIEW. <br /> <br />CO5: Create complete application like Four-way traffic light system, LPG gas leakage alarm system, Temperature data logging system and Intruder detection system.
