Syllabus

Microcontroller architecture. Overall hardware architecture of microcontrollers, including busses, memories, and input/output subsystems. Application of timer and A/D subsystems to solve measurement and control tasks Microcontroller interfacing. Derive waveforms for serial communications interfaces. Apply microcontrollers and external circuitry to interface to a variety of sensors and actuators Applications: Traffic light control using micro controller Stepper motor control using micro controller Downloading and uploading from /on PC memory Structured approach and developing an embedded system (Mini Project): Initial Planning Detailed hardware planning Software Development Instruction details Future Improvements

Course Objectives

  • To learn design of Embedded systems in different platforms
  • to learn latest trends in the subject with specific emphasis on processors and networking.

Course Outcomes

CO1: To well versed with the Embedded Assembly and C coding language to design Embedded Systems. <br />CO2: Learning the knowledge of 8-bit 8051 and 32-bit ARM processor architecture and its programming. <br />CO3: Learning and programming the Peripherals such as LCD, Keyboard, ADC, DAC and stepper motor interfacing. <br />CO4: Preform the hands-on practice of creating systems using microcontroller and peripherals. <br />CO5: Implement in practice the state of the art of embedded system design, suitable for real life and <br /> Industry applications.
