Course Objectives

 • Identification and characterization of different types of soil, their engineering behaviour and propose costitutive models to represent their behaviour
 • * Evaluation of compressibility characteristics of soil and estimation of settlement
 • * Evaluation of strength parameters of soil and factors influencing the same
 • * Understanding the failure mechanism and modelling the soil behaviour

Course Outcomes

At the end of the course, the students will able to:
1. Differentiate among various types of soil, their engineering behavior
2. Identify the critical conditions of Geotechnical structures
3. Propose the constitutive models to representing their behavior
