Syllabus

Module 1 :

Lab-1. Basic Radar Signal Processing: FFT/IFFT operation on rectangular pulse, Gaussian pulse [CO1]
Lab-2. Demonstration of Pulse Doppler Radar for object detection and Tracking. [CO1]
Lab-3. Simulation of Radar RF components in ADS: Filter/ Amplifier/ Oscillator [CO1]
Lab-4. SFCW Radar Signal Processing in Matlab [CO2]
Lab-5. Demonstration of GPR (SFCW) Radar in Lab, Its calibration, Processing of laboratory measurement Data [CO2]
Lab-6. Modelling and Simulation of Layered media for Ground Penetrating Radar by gprMax software [CO2]
Lab-7. GPR Imaging: Collect B-scan measurement data using SFCW radar at laboratory / run gprMax. Apply migration schemes i.e. Hyperbolic Summation (HS) and Kirchhoff Migration (KM) to generate a focused image for fine object buried in subsurface media. [CO2]
Lab-8. Object Detection and classification using UWB radar (GPR) [CO5]
Lab-9. Object Detection and classification using MM wave automotive Radar [CO3]
Lab-10. Mini Project on Design of Automotive Radar, Tracking Radar, Surveillance Radar, UWB imaging Radar, Software for object detection and identification, Novel Waveform Design, etc. [CO4, CO5]

Course Objective

1 .

To understand the principles of radar system design, operation, and implementation in real-world applications.

2 .

To develop the necessary skills and knowledge to design and implement radar systems.

3 .

To gain hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing radar systems in a laboratory setting.

Course Outcome

1 .

CO1: understand the principles of operation of CW and Pulse Radar systems and evaluate their performances.
CO2: analyze and design SFCW Radar System.
CO3: analyze and design FMCW Radar System.
CO4: apply CW Radar for surveillance.
CO5: apply UWB radar for object detection, classification, imaging and localization.
