Subject {L-T-P / C} : CR6175 : Electrical and Electrochemical Characterization of Ceramics Laboratory { 0-0-3 / 2}

Syllabus

1. Determination of frequency dependent dielectric constant and loss-factor of capacitors.
2. Determination of temperature coefficient of capacitance (TCC) and polymorphic phase transition temperature (if any) of linear dielectrics and nonlinear dielectrics.
3. Measurement of breakdown strength of dielectric at room temperature and at elevated temperature.
4. Poling of ferroelectric ceramic and measurement of piezoelectric voltage and charge coefficient
5. Measurement of Electromechanical coupling coefficient and Mechanical quality factor
6. Measurement of polarization-electric field (P-E) of different dielectric materials by sawer-tower circuit.
7. Study of grain and grain boundary resistivity/capacitance by Impedance analysis.
8. Temperature dependent conductivity of insulators/ semiconductors/conductor and Arrhenius plot for determination of activation energy of conduction.
9. Tafel plot for anodic and cathodic polarization.
10. Determination of diffusion coefficient of anodic and cathodic reacting species using cyclic voltammetry
11. Determination of electrochemical window of a electrolyte by linear sweep voltammetry
12. Determination of coulombic efficiency of a cell using chronoamperometry and chronovoltametry.
13. Determination of Seebeck coefficient of thermoelectric ceramics.
