Syllabus

Simulation of fluid dynamics and heat transfer for fluid flow through a straight and bent tubes, simulation of conductive and convective heat transfer problem, simulation of lid driven problem, simulation of combustion problem, simulation of fluidized bed system, estimation of drag coefficient, etc.

Course Objectives

 • To introduce student to applied computational fluid dynamics and to teach them how to solve a fluid flow problem using commercially available CFD software (ANSYS Fluent)
 • Equip the Participant with the Computational Fluid Dynamics Fundamentals.
 • Enable the student to design equipment using CFD software.

Course Outcomes

CO1. This course imparts ability among graduates to comprehend the transport processes and complex reactions happening in a multiphase reactor.
CO2. Student will be design different process equipment by detail designing of it using commercial software, Ansys Fluent
CO3. Student will be able to trouble shoot a process and can modify process condition for achieving better performance.
