State of the art on pedestrian flow theory Levels of pedestrian motion study Pedestrian flow parameters: speed, flow, density, space module, specific flow, critical density, comfortableness, efficiency Uni-directional, bi-directional and cross-directional flow Fundamental diagram, capacity and level of service Pedestrian flow models: Force based models and Decision based models Inference based generic comprehensive model Modelling tools Fuzzy logic Set Membership function Construction of fuzzy inference system Generic pedestrian flow models Layout design of pedestrian flow spaces : side walk, road intersection, airport, shopping mall Case studies Non-motorized vehicle characteristics Modelling of non-motorized vehicle flow Analogy and comparison between pedestrian flow models and non-motorized vehicle flow models.
