Syllabus

Introduction to biomimetics, Self-healing, Self-assembly, Hierarchal structures, Structure-function relationship in biological systems, Biomineralization, Bioprocesses, Inventions inspired by nature for biomedical applications.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the principles of biomimetics and biomineralization
  • Increase awareness of how biology can help in enriching other fields of engineering and vice versa.
  • Develop skills to read scientific literature critically and communicate effectively

Course Outcomes

1. Gain understanding of biomimetic principles and methods in biomimetics <br />2. Will be able to apply biomimetic approaches to solve engineering problems
