Syllabus

Thermal conductivity of liquids Heat transfer through a stacked layer. Parallel flow and counter flow heat exchanger. Effective insulation. Determination of Stefan Boltzmann constant. Unsteady heat transfer. Dropwise and Filmwise Condensation Apparatus. Mass transfer with or without chemical reaction Study of spray characteristics using a Cryospray equipment.
Determination of diffusion constants.

Course Objectives

  • To perform basic heat and mass transfer experiments and correlate with the biological systems

Course Outcomes

Able to understand and appreciate the transport phenomenon process occurring in biological systems
