Syllabus

Roll over shape analysis using different foot, Determining the muscle fatigue limit during muscle contractions, Determination of moment force at various angles of bicep muscle and to calculate its mechanical advantage, Determination of maximum load of bicep muscle at various joint angles, Gait analysis of normal walking using force platform and 3-D motion capture system, Calibration of 3D motion analysis system, Kinematic study of arm flexion, Verification of Bernoulli’s theorem, determination of coefficient of discharge using flow meters, Study of flow characteristics of fluid using Reynold’s apparatus, Study of gait in an inclined/staircase path.

Course Objectives

  • To understand the principles of biomechanics by performing simple experiments

Course Outcomes

At the end of the course, the student will be able to: <br />1. Understand the concepts of gait cycle and measure gait parameters <br />2. Understand the principles of bio-fluid mechanics used in circulatory biomechanics <br />3. Able to appreciate and calculate the moments at various angle
