Identification of various organs and skeletal parts from charts and models,
Preparation of slices from tissue, fixation and examination under microscope,
Preparation of blood film, staining and examination under microscope,
Performing total lobe count (TLC), differential count (DC0 of WBCs,
Performing total RBC count (TRBC),
ABO blood grouping
Performing peripheral blood smear (PBS) analysis,
Acquisition and interpretation of ECG,
Acquisition and interpretation of EEG,
Recording respiratory parameters through spirometry,
Examination of eye with direct ophthalmoscope,
Morphometric analysis of human femur, skull and pelvis from CT Scan Images,
Course Objectives
- To learn the gross anatomy of the human body
- To learn the acquisition and interpretation of physiological signals (ECG/EEG)
- To identify the tissue structures from histology
- To learn the common pathology lab tests
Course Outcomes
The lab will empower the students to <br />1. Visualize gross anatomical structures of human body <br />2. Differentiate normal and pathological tissues from histological anatomy <br />3. Apply the anatomical knowledge for prosthesis, orthosis and robotics design. <br />4. Apply histological knowledge in image processing <br />5. To apply the physiological signal interpretation for biomedical signal processing
