Syllabus

Overview and general principles of omics technologies in biotechnology, Omics approaches: Genomics, Proteomics, Transcriptomics and Metabolomics, Meta-omics (genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics) and Functional omics for discovery of novel organisms, enzymes, value added products etc., Application of Omics in different fields of biotechnology including agriculture, environment, pharmaceuticals, medicine, forensic etc. Omic tools (DNA-sequencing, Genome Sequencing, Next Generation Sequencing(NGS) methods, gene expression microarray, MS-based proteomics, NMR-based metabolomics),ranscription factor binding sites,RNA-Seq, Microarrays, Regulatory RNAs: small or large, Computational prediction of miRNA target genes, RNA Darkmatter, SDS PAGE, 2D PAGE , Liquid chromatography , Mass Spectrometry (ESI and MALDI) ,Protein identification by peptide mass fingerprinting, Capillary electrophoresis, Gas chromatography, Electrochemical detector,Computational techniques in data integration and big-data handling inGenome Annotation, Omics projects worldwide.
