Syllabus

1. Identification of research area
2. Presentation on: Background, need, aim and objectives of the research,
methodological framework of the research Identification of case studies.
3. Presentation on: Literature review and analyses of secondary case studies
Standard study, Study of by-laws and other relevant acts and standards
Tentative area programming.
4. Report submission

Course Objectives

  • To collect, and analyse the required data for the synthesis stage of final year thesis project.

Course Outcomes

a. The broad education necessary to understand architecture in a global context – techno-economic, <br />environmental, socio-cultural, and political <br />b. A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in, life-long learning <br />c. An ability to design and conduct inquiries, and to analyze and interpret data <br />d. An ability to identify and formulate programmatic requirements <br />e. An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs such as aesthetic, <br />economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and <br />sustainability <br />f.   • Prof. Indranil Sen, 11 Steps to Architectural Thesis, Notion Press , The book emphasizes on the process that may be followed to finally deliver a Project Design that truly reflects the capability and acquired confidence of a would-be Architect, and also make him or her aware of the of the do’s and don’ts of this mammoth exercise called Architectural Thesis.
