Syllabus
Lab 1: Introduction to mathematical formulation of optimization problem for a defined mining systems and Software for solving the problems.
Lab 2: Formulation of linear programming problem (LPP) for a defined mining system and solve using suitable software or computer programming. Generation and interpretation of sensitivity analysis of the defined problem.
Lab 3: Formulation of transportation problem for a defined mining system as LPP and Solve using suitable software or computer programming.
Lab 4: Formulation of integer programming problem for a defined mining system and solve using suitable software or computer programming.
Lab 5: Formulation of assignment problem as an Integer programming problem and solve using suitable software.
Lab 6: Formulation of dynamic programming problem for a defined mining system (pit optimization/maximized NPV) and solve using suitable computer programming.
Lab 7: Determination of best Fitting Probability Distribution Curve for a typical field data of a mining systems.
Lab 8: Simulation for optimizing the queuing system in mines.
Lab 9: Reliability analysis of a mining system for estimating the schedule maintenance time using suitable software or computer programming.
Lab 10: Mathematical formulation of non-linear programming problem for a defined mining system and solving using suitable software or computer programming.
Lab 11: Mathematical formulation of the inventory for a defined mining system and solving using suitable software or computer programming.
Lab 12: Introduction to evolutionary algorithms for solving the optimization problems of a defined mining system.
Course Objectives
- The primary objective is to develop skills for mathematical formulation of the optimizations problems for different mining systems.
- The other objective of the course is to develop skills for writing computer programming or handling optimization software for solving the optimization problems.
Course Outcomes
CO1: Develop necessary software skills for defining a mining systems and mathematical formulation of the problems. <br />CO2: Develop necessary software skills and methods to optimize the mining systems.
