1. Particle size analysis of different rocks and minerals
2. Study of Jaw Crusher and determination of its Actual Capacity
3. Finding out Reduction Ratio using jaw crusher
4. Verification of Rettinger’s Law using jaw crusher
5. Study of Hammer Mill and determination of its Actual Capacity
6. Finding out Reduction Ratio using Hammer Mill
7. Verification of Kick’s’ Law using Hammer Mill
8. Study of Rod Mill and determination of its Actual Capacity
9. Study of the effect of Ball Load and time on Grinding using Ball Mill
10. Study of Vibrating Screen and Determination of its Effectiveness
11. Study of Magnetic Separator and Determination of its Efficiency
12. Study of Baum Jig and Determination of its Efficiency

Course Objectives

  • To know the grade and quality of minerals found in earth crust and how to improve them so that the metallurgists can use the same for extraction purpose.
  • To know up to what extent the improvement should be done so that it will be economic.

Course Outcomes

CO1: To understand the Laboratory techniques of Mineral Beneficiation <br />CO2: To study various methods and equipment used for concentration <br />CO3: To give exposure to flow sheets for the beneficiation of various ore/minerals with special reference to Indian deposit.
