Syllabus

Experiment 1: Synthesis an characterization of electroplated copper thin films from
acidic and alkali solution onto metallic and non-metallic substrate
Experiment 2: Electroplating of Nickel onto a metallic strip (copper) from watt’s bath.
Experiment 3: Synthesis and characterization of Electroplated Ni-Co alloy thin films
onto non- metallic substrate.
Experiment 4: Corrosion behaviour of 304AISI stainless steel in borate buffer solution
with variation of chloride ions
Experiment 5: Evaluation of anti-corrosion properties of graphene coating onto Cu
strips.

Course Objectives

  • A through understanding and practical knowledge of electrometallurgy and corrosion processes which has been taught in the class rooms.

Course Outcomes

CO 1: Knowledge on solo metallic electroplating and to observe the effect of substrate material <br />CO 2: Knowledge on solo metallic electroplating and to observe the effect of solution parameters <br />CO 3: Knowledge on alloy electroplating and to observe the effect of substrate and solution parameters <br />CO 4: Corrosion behavior of structural materials in general and aggressive conditions <br />CO 5: Knowledge on electroplating of anti-corrosion protective coatings and their corrosion behavior
