Syllabus

Lab-1: Introduction to Ultrawideband Radar, GPR
Lab-2: Understand Convolution, Correlation, Estimate delay of Radar target by cross correlation of coded radar signal
Lab-3: Simulation of Pulse Vs SFCW Radar, Use Plane wave model to simulate distance of object.
Lab-4: Modelling and Simulation of Layered media for Ground Penetrating Radar
Lab-5: Demonstration of GPR Data collection method using laboratory setup of SFCW GPR based on VNA and GPR Trolley, Process the S11 data in time domain.
Lab-6: Calibration and Clutter Removal for GPR raw data Acquisition (Averaging)
Lab-7: Calibration of GPR System using linear Transfer Technique
Lab-8: Introduction to gprMax for simulation GPR, simulation with 2L media
Lab-9: GPR Imaging Part-I (Generate data using MPWM/ gprMax, apply simple migration scheme (HS) to generate a focused image)
Lab-10: GPR Imaging Part-II (HS and KM using generated data using MPWM-1/ gprMax)
Lab-11: Application of Machine learning in buried object detection and classifications
Lab-12: Introduction to Software Defined Radars

Mini Project

Course Objectives

  • To understand the principles of radar system design, operation, and implementation in real-world applications.
  • To develop the necessary skills and knowledge to design and implement radar systems.
  • To gain hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing radar systems in a laboratory setting.

Course Outcomes

CO1: Students will be able to understand the principles of radar system, including target detection and tracking, and system performance analysis. <br />CO2: Students will learn basic radar system design and modelling. <br />CO3: Students will able to apply advanced signal processing techniques as well as Machine learning for Radar imaging and object detection. <br />C04: Students will design and implement radar systems that meet specific performance requirements. <br />CO5: Students will evaluate the performance of radar systems using industry-standard metrics and tools.
