Syllabus

Review of transmission lines, impedance, reflection and network parameters. broadband impedance matching network design using passive elements.
Design of microwave and millimeter wave wireless frontend circuits including low noise amplifier, mixer, oscillator, power amplifier, filter, diplexer and antenna characterization and implementation of microwave and millimeter wave integrated systems in CMOS and pHEMT technologies.
Introduction to the techniques used in modern broadband wireless system design.

Course Objectives

  • To train the students the different microwave and millimeter wave transceivers architectures and illustrate their operation principle.
  • To provide the design consideration of microwave and millimeter waves systems
  • To study the properties and design of LNA, Mixer, Oscillator, Power amplifier
  • To initiate the students the understanding of tools of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) for communication system and high frequency circuit

Course Outcomes

After successful completion of this course, students should be able to: <br />a. Understand microwave and millimeter wave circuits, devices, and system. <br />b. Understand design of microwave and millimeter Integrated Circuit. <br />c. Solve problems related to it.
