Syllabus

S-parameter, network concept, Microwave network analysis Transmission lines at Microwave frequencies, stripline and microstrip lines, Microwave resonators
Microwave passive circuits: impedance transformers, couplers, filters, hybrids, isolators, Phase shifter, attenuators Impedance matching and tuning
Microwave devices, Small signal amplifiers-low noise, maximum gain, maximum power, stability Broadband amplifiers-matching circuits, travelling wave amplifiers Power amplifiers, Oscillators
Detection and measurement of microwave signals, Microwave system parameters, analysis.

Course Objectives

  • Students will be able to understand the basics of Microwave devices and circuits.
  • Students will be able to design various microwave active and passive components.
  • Students will be able to design Microwave Amplifiers.
  • Students will be able to design Microwave Filters. <br />Students can understand the Measurement of Microwave System Parameters.

Course Outcomes
