Introduction to probability, statistics and regression Macroscopic and microscopic traffic parameters: distance headway, time headway, speed, flow, density Fundamentals of traffic flow Flow characterization Uninterrupted traffic flow Ininterrupted traffic flow Traffic flow models: macroscopic and microscopic Car-following behavior car-following models Shock waves, Capacity and level of service: Indian and American practice Capacity and Level-of-service analysis of basic freeway sections Different types of traffic facilities Design of traffic facilities Unsignalized and signalized intersections, Design aspects of signalized intersection Inter changes, Warrants for interchanges Design of Interchanges Expressways, Parking areas, Parking demand On-street parking Off-street parking Traffic signs Simulation of traffic streams Traffic surveys: Speed, volume, delay, origin and destination, parking.
