Syllabus

Design philosophies of RCC and Steel structures, concept of computer aided design, introduction of software package (Staad.Pro) for the analysis and design of structures.

Concept of earthquake resistant design of structures, seismic analysis and design of multi-storey RRC buildings and industrial steel structures using Staad.Pro.

Wind analysis and design of multi-storey RCC buildings and industrial steel structures using Staad.Pro.

Course Objectives

  • Students will able to understand the interface and computational features of structural engineering software STAAD.Pro.
  • Students will be able to analyze and design RCC structures using the software.
  • Students will be able to analyze and design industrial steel structures using the software.

Course Outcomes

Students will able to <br />1. Create model of RCC building frames and industrial steel structures using Staad.Pro software. <br />2. Design RCC building structures under earthquake loads using Staad.Pro software. <br />3. Estimate the wind load on different structures and design using Staad.Pro software.
