Syllabus

Measurement Systems :Resolution, accuracy, errors, range, precision, repeatability, reproducibility, sensitivity, dynamic characteristics, and reliability. The idea of national standards and traceability of measurements
Elements: Measurement of position, rotational speed, pressure, flow, liquid level, temperature, and the detection of the presence of objects. The methods used for signal processing of the signals from sensors such as resistance to voltage conversion, protection against high currents or high voltages, analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue conversions, microcontrollers, and op-amps are discussed. Signal transmission methods, smart systems, and display methods
Systems: open- and closed-loop control systems and describes the differences in performance between such systems. The principles involved in some simple examples of open- and closed-loop control systems
Controllers: process controller and the use of two-step, proportional, derivative and integral control laws, PID control, controller tuning,Direct digital control
