Syllabus
Communication Design focuses on the foundations of visual communication that are relevant to a variety of disciplines, such as two-dimensional composition, letterforms,
typesetting, and the typographic grid. Practical software skills and design vocabulary will be covered, though the goals of the course aim much deeper. Through lectures, demonstrations, in-class
exercises, readings, projects, and critiques, successful students will internalize the design process and the power of visual communication.

- An ability to employ foundational knowledge in your own work.
Course Outcomes
Be able to describe the typical process of how visual design artifacts are created Practice the process of sketching as a formative tool for visualizing ideas. Hone skills in both <br />receiving and delivering constructive criticism. Develop a personal sense of aesthetic judgment, appreciating the spectrum between subjectivity and objectivity in design.
