Module 1: Importance of computerization and IT in food industry and principles of communication
Module 2:Operating environments and information systems for various types of food industries.
Module 3: Role of computer in Optimization. Online food process control from centralized server system in processing plant.
Module 4: Introduction to Toolboxes useful to Food Industry Curve fitting toolbox, Fuzzy logic toolbox, Neural Network toolbox, Image processing toolbox, statistical toolbox.
Module 5: Applications of CFD in Food and beverage industry. Introduction to CFD softwares.
Module 6: Introduction to Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) SCADA systems hardware and firmware SCADA systems software and protocols Landlines,
Module 7: Introduction to MATLAB MATLAB interactive sessions, Computing with MATLAB MATLAB help system, problem solving methodologies Functions and Files in MATLAB, Programming using MATLAB, Program design and development, debugging MATLAB programs Plotting and Model Building in MATLAB.
Course Objectives
- To educate students about the basic use, and web applications so as to facilitate learning.
- To enable students in advanced software management for food industry application
- Introduction to advanced software, so students realize and employ the case based software applications.
Course Outcomes
CO1: Students learn various applications of information technologies in food processing industry <br />CO2: Students learn the basics of block chain management practices and AI in food industry, <br />CO3: Students are introduced to the relevant software applicable for the different parts of the industry.
