Syllabus

Food Adulteration, Food Safety Management System. Mandatory and voluntary food laws. Various laws, regulations and Certifications for food processing. Essential Commodity Act, Prevention of Food Adulteration Act (PFA), Fruit Products Order (FPO), Meat Food Products Order (MFPO), Vegetable Oil Control Order, Agricultural Marketing and Grading Standards (AGMARK), Bureau of Indian Stand-ards(BIS) and their certifications, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Food Safety and Standards Act and Regulations of India. Food Codex laws, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Agri-cultural Practices (GAP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).

Course Objectives

  • To learn various Laws, Regulations & Certifications for Food Processing

Course Outcomes

Ability to provide service to food industry for developing/ operating their manufacturing system in compliance with national and international food standards
