Historical background of Terrestrial and Tectonic Geodesy Definition and scope of Geodesy Introduction to space-based techniques Basic principle of GNSS Network designing Site establishment Data acquisition and data processing Modeling of geodetic data (Okada, COULOMB, ANSYS, SSPX, RELAX etc) Geodynamic applications - earthquake and volcano-related deformation processes Different case studies Problem sets.

Course Objectives

  • To provide idea about crustal deformation process.
  • To understand the basic concept of the Global Navigation Satellite System
  • To understand how geodetic data is processed using different tools
  • To understand the earthquake and volcano-related deformation processes

Course Outcomes

Expertise students understanding the deformation behavior of Earth's crust. <br />Expertise students to handle the different tools/software for geodetic data processing.
