Course Objectives

 • To prepare the student to learn the principles of operation, simulation and design procedures of ac-dc rectifiers, dc-dc converter, dc-ac inverters.
 • To prepare the student to become proficient with computer skills (e.g., NI Multisim and MATLAB) for the analysis and design of power electronic circuits.

Course Outcomes

At the end of the course, students will be able to

1. Able to analyze all types of converters in simulation of the power electronics theory course EE2202 Power Electronics.

2. Calculate converter circuit parameter details.

3. Simulate power electronic circuits in NI Multisim and MATLAB SIMULINK.

4. Evaluate and investigate the possible causes of inconsistencies in observations and results, in comparison with the theory.

5. Prepare professional quality textual and graphical presentations of laboratory data, waveforms, and computational results, incorporating data analysis and synthesis methods, mathematical software, and word-processing tools.
