Subject {L-T-P / C} : EE2700 : Basic Electrical Engineering Laboratory { 0-0-2 / 1}

Subject Nature : Practical

Syllabus

1. To verify maximum power transfer theorem.
2. Study of power factor at different loads i.e, resistive, inductive and capacitive.
3. Testing of single phase energy meter at different power factors i.e, at 0.5, 0.866. and 1.0
4. Study of resonance in RLC series circuit.
5. Measurement of three phase power by two wattmeter method.
6. Study of open circuit and short circuit test of single phase transformer.
7. Study of load test of single phase transformer.
8. To find the magnetization characteristics of a separately excited DC-generator.
9. To observe speed control of DC-motor using:
(a) Variation of armature voltage method
(b) Variation of field flux method

Course Objectives

  • To investigate electrical circuits-and-systems behaviors under different types of loads
  • To conduct testing and parameters measurement of different Electrical machines
  • To analyze the operation, control and characterizations of dc machines
  • To familiarize with different measuring instruments and measurement of power for both single phase and three phase system

Course Outcomes

After studying this course the students would gain enough knowledge: <br />• To formulate and analyze the electrical circuits and systems under loaded and unloaded conditions <br />• To ensure a suitable instrument for measuring different electrical parameters <br />• To troubleshoot the operations of electrical machines <br />• To perform calculations of power for both single phase and three-phase systems
