Subject Nature : Theory

Syllabus

Methods of Microstrip analysis, Losses in Microstrip Slot line and Co-planar Waveguide.
Filter: Low-pass Filter synthesis using Kuroda’s identities and stepped impedance technique, Microstrip Coupled Line analysis, Broadside and edge coupled line filter design, stepped impedance resonator.
Directional Coupler Branch line coupler Impedance transformers, Power dividers and combiners, Circulators, Microstrip Patch antenna

Course Objectives

  • The course provides basic information on the different planar transmission lines.
  • The course helps to design filter using microstrip technology.
  • The course objective is also to understand the design of various microstrip based passive components and its applications.

Course Outcomes

After successful completion of this course, students should be able to: <br />a. diagnoses and solve basic microstrip circuit problems. <br />b. design various microstrip based lowpass, bandpass and bandstop filter. <br />c. design various microstrip circuit components.
