BIOGRAPHY

Prof. K.K.Khatua, Professor in Civil Engineering Department of NIT Rourkela, has 30 years of teaching , and 25 years of research experience in the field of River Hydraulics, Computational hydro dynamics, Computational hydrology and Fluid Mechanics etc. Apart from many administrative, academic and research activities, he was the Dean( AIIR) of NITR from July 2021 to 2023. Prof. Khatua is the Fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India) and a fellow of the Indian Society for Hydraulics. He has published more than 100 reputed International Journals and more than 200 peer-reviewed international conference papers. He has Research collaborations with INRAE, Lyon France University of South Carolina, USA. Lough-borough University, UK. University of Birmingham, UK, University of Leeds, UK, Kyoto University, Japan. He has also research collaborations with reputed IITs, NITs and research Institutes. He has guided 12 Ph. D and 100 M. Tech thesis. Several Best M. Tech and PhD theses have been awarded through his guidance in different years in the Institute level and national level. He has completed many high values of research projects as PI through DST core research grants, UGC-UKIERI and IEI research grants and have contributed in international research projects with INRAE, France, and with EPSRC grant of UK. He also contributed to the Groundwater survey for All India Radio, Bridge protection projects of Indian Railways, and flood management issues Water Resources Government of Odisha, Rourkela, Prof. Khatua is in editorial board member of many reputed International journals. He is also expert members/executive members of high level committee at the Government departments and at different Universities and organizations. He has achieved many national and International recognitions, medals and awards, such as the “Best teacher award 2021” at NIT Rourkela.
