The recommendation of the institute to ICCR/SII for selection is based on the comprehensive evaluation of the application including 10th and 12th marks with Maths, Physics and English as compulsory subjects. The candidate should have secured 75% marks or equivalent in aggregate in the qualifying examination, as applicable in the respective boards.

In DASA, candidates should have successfully completed Math, Physics and one of the subjects from (Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology) in Class XII with 75% marks (CGPA of 7.5 out of 10) in aggregate, as applicable in the respective boards.

The eligible candidates must have secured CGPA not less than 6.5 in the 10 point scale or secured marks not less than 60% in UG examination in the relevant discipline. Students must have studied the subjects related to the course/ branch applied.

Yes. The institute conducts an interview before making the final selection. Applicants are therefore advised to be well prepared for the interview.

Yes, English proficiency is required to study at an Indian university, as most courses are taught in English.

No. If a student fails to complete the course within the prescribed duration due to backlogs, the scholarship will not be reimbursed or continued.

The applicant has to carry following documents in English and in Original for verification by the concerned University authorities:
  • Offer Letter of the concerned foreign scheme
  • Marksheet & Birth Certificate
  • School / College Leaving / Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate and Conduct / Character Certificate
  • Valid Passport and Visa
  • Medical Fitness Certificate

Foreign students enrolling in undergraduate programmes require a Student Visa (S1 Visa). Students enrolling in PhD programmes are required to obtain a Research Visa (S5 Visa).

No, foreign students are not required to take an entrance exam for admission. However, students applying under the DASA scheme must have a valid JEE Main score.

You can pursue only one course to which you are admitted.

After completing his/her admission formalities, the student should ensure registration with local Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within two weeks of arrival in India. After the registration with FRRO he/she should obtain the Residential Permit within 90 days. The student should also open his/her bank account within one month of arrival, so that his/her stipend could be deposited in his/her bank only.

Yes. You are advised to carry some money on arrival in India in a currency that can be exchanged into Indian Rupees. This will help you meet incidental expenses for completing the joining formalities at the Institute.

No, submission of application is not a guarantee of your admission, as your admission is decided by the Institute concerned on the basis of your credentials and as per their own eligibility criteria.

If you have secured the required scores in English proficiency tests such as IELTS or TOEFL or scored the required marks in the institute’s English aptitude test then you are eligible.

This depends on the institute. If institute is willing to accept additional students, they may conduct a second round of selection, during which you may have another opportunity.
