BIOGRAPHY

Seemita Mohanty is Professor of English in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (Odisha). Her research interests include English language teaching, sociolinguistics, cultural studies, tribal languages, education and culture, and Indian English literature. To date she has supervised 11 PhD students and 20 Master projects, and published four books in addition to 30 research articles in national and international journals of repute. She is a recipient of the prestigious Homi Bhabha Fellowship from the Homi Bhabha Fellowships Council, Mumbai. She was the Coordinator of the Centre of Excellence for Tribal Studies at NIT Rourkela, funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India. She has also worked as Principal Investigator for several research projects sponsored by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Indian Council of Social Science Research, British Council and Steel Authority of India Limited.
