BIOGRAPHY
Dr. M. Jaya Prakash is now Associate Professor in NIT Rourkela. He obtained his PhD degree from University of Hyderabad in the year of 2008 under the supervision of Prof. T. P. Radhakrishnan. The research topic during the PhD work was non-linear optical materials and chiral crystal surfaces as templates. Then he went for first post-doctoral work, from 2008 to 2010 in Hanyang University and subsequently at UNIST, South Korea. During this period he has investigated porous metal organic polyhedral and metal organic frameworks for carbon dioxide gas adsorption. Later he went for his second post-doctoral work at Notre Dame University in USA from 2010 to 2012 and contributed in the topic of hydrogen bonded metal organic host systems for selective guest encapsulation. Subsequently in the year of 2012 he joined in Andhra Pradesh state government engineering college as a contact lecturer and gained teaching experience. Then in the year 2014 he joined in National Institute of Technology Rourkela as an Assistant Professor. At present his research group is working on covalent organic cage molecules for selective carbon dioxide gas adsorption. Another topic active working is the fluorescent covalent organic cage molecules for selective sensing of small molecules such as chloroform in the gas phase, selective detection of picric acid in solution and solid form. Very interesting topic he is investigation is that the breaking of H-type aggregates and J-type aggregates in tri-aryl amine derivatives. The inorganic crystal surfaces have been utilized as host templates for the individual fluorescent molecules. The enhancement of solid state fluorescence is highly interesting has been due to the ion-dipole interactions. Developing white Light emitting diode is in progress now in his laboratory.
