Syllabus

Syllabus- Ceramic Equipment Design Laboratory (CR 6174)
1. Design of roller hearth kiln with definite capacity used in ceramic tiles industries
2. Design of parameters of ball mill for grinding quartz and Feldspar
3. Design of autoclave for production of alumina using Bayer’s process
4. Design a Tray Dryer for determining the drying time of Al(OH)3 cake from a filter press
5. Design of a glass tank furnace for the production of sheet glass
6. Design a direct-fired rotary kiln for dead burning of magnesite

Course Objectives

  • To be able to optimize design paramters and output , perfrmence , efficeincy of a ceramic machine used in industry.
  • To be able to analyze a large data set and calculate necessary details for design optimization.

Course Outcomes

1. Students will be able to learn the methods for optimize design parameters for various equipment used in ceramic industry . <br />2. Students can analyze a large data set and calculate necessary details for design optimization. <br />3. Students will be able to present design data in the form of a document. <br />4. Students can choose a suitable condition for the best performance of a ceramic machine. <br />5. Students will be able to understand the importance of working in a group.
