Syllabus
1. Sketching in two dimensions with various tools
2. Part modeling with various features including extrusion, revolve, sweep, loft etc.
3. Assembly modeling (bottom-up assemblies) and interference checking, collision avoidance
4. Drawing module with annotations and bill of materials.
5. Motion study using SolidWorks software
Course Objectives
- To enhance the drawing skills needed for designer
- To learn feature based modeling software and perform solid modeling applications
- To understand the motion study concepts and bottom-up assembly construction
Course Outcomes
1. to develop any new part model from given orthographic projections <br />2. to learn the CAD modeling with parametric and feature based concepts <br />3. to understand the motion study principles and interference checking in assemblies <br />4. to know the generative drafting concepts and surface modeling <br />5. to use solid models for importing into finite element solver tools and analyze
