Syllabus
Introduction to MATLAB- Characteristics of Continuous Periodic Signal, Continuous and Display of Continuous-Time sinusoidal Signals, Generation and display of continuous-time exponential signals, sawtooth and square wave, pulse train wave, Signal Analysis- Convolution of a first-order system, Compare the ECG signal with sinusoids, Fourier series Analysis Decomposition Reconstruction- Fourier series analysis of the EEG signal, Perform a discrete Fourier series analysis on the triangular waveform. Spectra analysis with the FFT- Reconstruct waveform, Impulse Response of the System, Moving average filter.
Course Objectives
- The students will familiarize themselves with the Matlab® software
- The students will be able to analyze different biomedical signals
- The students will be able to apply their knowledge on digital signal processing for processing biomedical signals
Course Outcomes
Familiarize with the signal processing-related operations <br />Gain knowledge of digital signal processing for processing biomedical signals <br />Gain an understanding of the fundamentals of acquired and filtering of bio signals <br />Apply knowledge of frequency-domain signal processing of biomedical signals <br />Identify and effectively implement appropriate algorithms for biomedical signal analysis.
