Subject Nature : Practical
Coordinator : Prof. Basudeb Munshi
Syllabus
Simulation of steady and transient state heat and mass transfer processes along with reactors, Design of solid handling processes, Design of Membrane process, Design of processes using Aspen Tech. software alone or with Excel sheet at the interface, Design of controllers, Flow sheeting of selected chemical plants using Aspen Tech software (Aspen Plus, Aspen Hysis and Aspen Dynamics modules)
Course Objectives
- To develop knowledge on flow sheeting of chemical plants
- To give training on how to use different commercial process simulators
- To teach methods of designing of modern process control technology
Course Outcomes
CO1: This course imparts the ability to the graduates to work as a part of multidisciplinary project and become an asset to the national/multinational companies, R&D sectors.
CO2: Students will be able design chemical processes by making flow sheets using steady state and Dynamic simulators of ASPEN PLUS and HYSIS
CO3: Students will be able to trouble shoot and can suggest possible modification for achieving better performance from an existing process
