Syllabus
Experiment on natural convection and forced convection heat transfer, Thermocouple calibration, The thermal conductivity of an insulating material, load test at a constant speed on Ruston diesel engine, The volumetric efficiency of reciprocating air compressor at different receiver pressure, Working condition of IC engine (both petrol & diesel engine) and draw value timing diagram, Working condition of twin-cylinder diesel engine and draw a heat balance sheet, Calibration of slip gauge using interference of light by Interference Method, Internal taper and bore measurement using two precision spheres, External taper measurement by sine center
Course Objectives
- To understand and get familiar with the mechanical engineering instruments and learn their working principles. Also, students will able to measure the mechanical and thermophysical properties using the apparatus.
Course Outcomes
Course Outcomes: At the end of the course, the student will be able to <br />CO1: learn the working principle of different mechanical measuring instruments. <br />CO2: Understand the working principle of these instruments. <br />CO3: measure the mechanical and thermophysical properties
