Abstract:
Nanostructures and nanostructured silicon anodes are provided with the aim to enhance the electrochemical performance and applications in Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). In this regard, a straightforward approach for the fabrication of Si@C core-shell and Si@void@C yolk-shell structures are provided. The electrochemical performance of Si@C and Si@void@C electrodes were examined in a Li-ion half-cell using 2032 coin-cell configuration through cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic discharge-charge measurements, rate performance assessments, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), revealing a notably superior electrochemical performance.
